Every night in Ukraine, homes for millions of children, families and those fighting the war go dark. Entire towns are left without light, without heat and often without hope. Russia’s relentless attacks on the energy grid have destroyed more than 60% of the country’s power infrastructure (Financial Times, Oct 2025). Although it has faded from the headlines, the invasion is not just still happening, it’s intensifying.

Russia continues to strike civilian and energy infrastructure daily, leaving millions vulnerable and exposed. This winter will be brutal. Individuals and families are already struggling to survive in freezing apartments and darkened homes. Power cuts last for hours, sometimes days. The elderly, children and displaced people are the most at risk.
